One frigid morning at Purdue, in 2013...

We were dressed in ridiculous costumes partaking in a well-known past time called “Breakfast Club” when Laura passed by and caught my eye. Best-man Eric Nebelung felt it necessary to drag me over to her, say about three words and disappear. For that, I could not be more thankful. From a far, it looked like a Spaniard who just ran from a bull conversing with a go-go dancer… unfortunately, there are photos… but in reality, that morning I met my best friend.

From then on, we’ve been inseparable. From the day we met, we have seamlessly immersed ourselves with each other’s family and friends, which really speaks measures about the many, many great people in our lives.

I hope you enjoy paging through our website and look forward to seeing each and every one of you on our big day.

Four years later, on a surprisingly warm evening at Purdue…

I was in a for a huge surprise, following our annual attendance of the Purdue Christmas Show.

After months of texts, phone calls, and meetings unbeknownst to me, he had the ring. It wasn’t just any ring. It was one he had designed and created by a family friend, especially for me. He initially thought he might hold onto it for a little while; however upon my mother secretly passing it to him, he was too excited to wait. He only managed to keep it in his pocket for a couple of hours.

Fortunately for us, that evening in December was unseasonably warm. After the show concluded, he suggested we take a walk around the campus. I was too amped-up from all the Christmas music to notice he was lagging behind a bit, as well as struggling to get the ring box out of his coat pocket. Eventually, I heard him call out to me. I turned, and there he was on one knee with a big smile on his face. He asked me, and I said “yes”. If I’m being honest, I may have fell over a bit when he opened the box. Thankfully, he was there to catch me.

Afterward we met up with my parents and proceeded to Harry’s Chocolate Shop. Which for those that are unaware, doesn’t actually sell chocolate…we’ll tell you about that later. During our celebrating, the months of secret planning was retold to me. Fittingly enough, Harry’s happened not only to be the location of one of our first few dates, but also the spot in which he had asked my dad for his blessing.

Purdue has always been a special place for me, and on December 2, 2017, it became even more so for us both.
